Is it possible to alter the default REW/FWD speeds?

Using REW and FWD to browse through recorded Media Centre programmes I've noticed that the 'one press' FWD is too slow (barely much faster than real time) for my needs and the 'two press' FWD is too fast. Is there anyway to alter the speeds of these?

I've seen this before - I don't think there was a fix.

If it's any use to you, I find the skip forward and back buttons work better for ad breaks. Just in case you haven't played with this yet.

I tend to whack the skip forward until I hit the program, then back a couple until I see the end of the previous ad.

Takes a bit of training, but definitely easier.

yep, skip is much better, i hardly ever use ffwd or rwd. I find setting the fwd skip to 59 seconds and the back to 10 seconds works best.

Next project is seeing how accurate something like VideoRedo's ad detection feature is and if it's good enough, scripting something to automatically remove the ads from recorded TV overnight, maybe even checking for BBC in the filename and excluding them!

Anyone know of other programs apart from VideoRedo that has an ad detection facility that I could try out for this?

Just had a look at the Forums and it seems there is already and auto script being developed as a plugin.....
