Fast Forward problem and others with Snazzio net cinema

I've recently bought a Snazzio 1350 Net Cinema system and have updated the firmware to the latest.

I realise it has problems and have read as much as I can both here and on the MPC site.

I can't find direct answers to these questions - They may have been discussed but I couldn't find answers easily, can anyone help ??

I have it hard wired to my server through a Belkin router but I have the problem of the playback fast-forwarding for a second or two at what seems to be fairly regular intervals and then the sound is out of sync. That's with VOB files and HD (.ts) files from the PC.

Also is there a way to play a DVD that has been copied onto the Hard drive in the way it would play if it was on the DVD still in the drive, ie make use of the menus etc.. At the moment I can choose play all VOB files but that doesn't work right and if the default language is foreign, I have to change it each time the VOB file changes as it defaults back to the original language.

Other small issues but I think they may be addressed and can live with them at the moment.

I think some software - like Swisscenter - assists with navigation, though doesn't provide the menus.

If you are streaming from an NTFS PC harddrive rather than a FAT32 directly connected USB2 drive, then you could rip the DVD to a single huge VOB file I believe, rather than multiple <1GB files (which are <1GB because the DVD file system couldn't cope with larger files I believe?)

I think this is an option on many DVD copy programmes?
