Does anyone here work in a high-end A/V house/place?

Hello everyone,

I'm doing a marketing project/paper that involves analyzing wholesale-to-retail mark-ups of general product categories.. right now, I'm looking at electronics, such as:

1) Plasma/Flat Panel TV's
2) High-End DVD Players
3) High-End Receivers
4) High-End Speakers

So far, I've only found general (and somewhat unreliable) stats on the internet for this category, since the technology changes so quickly.

Does anyone here work for a high-end audio/visual house? If so, I'm hoping if you can tell me what the purchase costs for the store is for some of those parts (i.e. wholesale prices), and what the mark-ups were.

If you happen to have access to specific product prices (e.g. a Sony DVD changer model number A-123456), that'd would be great! The more specific/"solid" the data, the better!

I'm sure many wholesale prices for new products are proprietary. So of course, this can be old data, i.e. "the wholesale price of a new DVD player back when it first came out was $400, but it was marked up 25% to $500" I doubt old data is of much use today..

Thanks in advance, everyone!
