Help a numpty connect his stereo... Please!

Hi,
I've just purchased a 2nd hand radio cassette player (Volkswagen Beta), no wiring instructions, I've got an ISO connection already in my car, but before I plug it in a blow something up, I wanted to check the wiring is the same. There's a sticker on the top of the unit showing the connections.
The speaker connections are obvious, plus negative & 2x live (constant and switched (don't know which is which!)). Can anyone clarify what the other connections are? Guessing that the sun symbol is for illumination, not sure what S, K or Gala are. Is the speaker symbol for mute?

Gala is the speed sensing wire, provides speed sensitive volume control.

K-line is a diagnostic line, allows code to be sent from ECU to radio direct etc.

Not sure on S... be aware that VW have perm and ign controlled + the *opposite* way round to the "norm".

The speaker is the telephone mute.. yes.

How old is the car the radio came out of? It may have can bus...meaning no ignition feed will work it (it wont work in a non vw) also do you have the correct code? as this is normally gained through the cars wiring...
