best sub out there?

Hi what is the best Sub?

option 1: money no object

option 2: £2000 to spend

would be to go with B&W 800 series and in a 27foot X 12 foot room.

would 2 smaller subs be better than one big?

I have heard the Velodyne DD10 is a good sub but is there something more exotic that I don't know about ?

looking forward to hearing your thoughts will go and demo your choice's.

many thanks Andy

Audition a Velodyne SMS-1 coupled with a PB12-Plus/2. I can only speak for myself, but IMO this is a very potent combination, you would even have money leftover to purchase some quality cables.
The drawback of these things are size, they are enormous. You are hereby officially warned.
Other quality choices would be the 800-series, or a Velodyne DD-12/15/18. Havent heard the latter, but the B&W's are a nice series of subs.

Good luck.

... let's say best sub under £10K - probably the Genelec HTS6! It's a monster.

.... probably the best (as in cleanest output for that power) would be the biggest SVS £2k can get you - whichever one!

The best sub is... more than one good sub placed close to another and another and another and another.... The Genelec is really four big box sub stacked side by side. You can do this with any decent sub. Or stack them on top of each other. Or side by side and on top of each other. How much money and how much room do you have?

Yeah 4 x Velodyne Signature Digital Drive 1812s grouped together. It'd only be around £40k

I think I'd prefer a row of PB12/2s. Then I'd still be able to see t' telly.

I think velodyne DD series subs are one of the best but the DD series starts at £2K and rises

I heard a DD12 on the weekend and was blown away by the speed and accuracy listening to some CD's with it. I just wanted to listen to more and more CD's!

between 1K to 2K your looking at B&W or SVS
