Uses of the Bug's USB port?

I've been looking into getting some sort of audio player (but that's another issue) and I like the Bug, only recently realising it could play MP3's on an SD card. I was wondering if I could use the USB port to play files on my laptop in the same way?

I've tried simply connecting one to my laptop (my dad has a bug) and playing with menus to no avail and so expect the USB port is only currently configured for firmware updates... in which case, has anyone ever managed/bothered to hack the firmware?

Ideally I'd like to be able to stream media from my network through to the Bug instead of fiddling around with SD cards. If anyone has any experience of this - either positive or negative, I'd like to know

Unhappy Confused

Er, why? What advantage are you after exactly? If you simply want to copy files to the Bug's SD card then that should appear as a removeable drive, so I guess you could map a network drive and copy files to it. Mine appears under Devices in XP (note the sub-directory TRACKS). If I've got the wrong end of the stick, just ignore me...
