Best sub for MS Avants?

Hi,

I'm looking for a good sub to match my setup: front speakers are new MS 906i floorstanders, center is 905, and rears are 903i bipoles. Receiver is Yamaha RX-V657, and room size is about 20m sq.

There is someone on this board with a similar setup and SVS tube sub (it's in his sig) but there aren't any retailers who carry SVS or BK where I live.

Could you plz recommend some brands and models, just to know what to look for. Or should I just wait for the new MS 309i? Oh, right - budget is around 300 quids.

Tnx!

Email Tom at BK. I know he has shipped at least two subs to Portugal so I don't see why Croatia should be a problem. You can't demo the BKs in Britain either as they are sold direct from the manufacturer. Most of us have bought them on the strength of feedback from the forums. The BK XLS-200 would work very nicely in your system as your room is not too large. It won't reach the the bottom octave or so, but then I can't think of anything that will for £300. Start here.

The cheapest SVS is the PB10-ISD which even with the Easter special offer is £350. You could try and see what AV Sales will want to ship one. Look at the SVS Powerbuy Thread for more info and contact details.

I'd go for the MS909W which goes for about 350. Much more effortless than the 309i

How about a Monolith? I'm sure BK will ship to Zagreb.

Although the 906s have plenty of bass there is no comparison when watching an action film with the SVS- the difference with the rears is huge.

I own the MS 914s, and used to own the MS 906s. I have heard both with the Monolith, and they work really well. The main reason I didn't go for the XLS200 or similar is that the Mordaunts already go pretty low, so I didn't feel I would reap a huge benefit. Personally I would save a little longer and spend £400 on a Monolith or similar.
