I'm a little confused here.
Does blu-ray offer managed copy?
Because some sites are saying it doesn't (and that's why MS went with HD-DVD) while other sites are saying it does (HP asked for it to be supported). And I've also read some sites saying it will support it, but some studios won't allow it on their disks.
So is there any definate answer?
Thanks.

Thanks - good news then.
just wondering is there any information regarding what you can do with the copies? (stream over network, put on a portable device etc).

Blu-Ray Managed Copy, yes but it is up to the content providers to allow it.
HD-DVD Managed Copy makes is mandatory and therefore has to be allowed.

Blu-ray link says this:
1.13 Will Blu-ray support mandatory managed copy?

Yes, mandatory managed copy (MMC) will be part of the Blu-ray format. This feature will enable consumers to make legal copies of their Blu-ray movies that can be transferred over a home network. Please note that "mandatory" refers to the movies having to offer this capability, while it will be up to each hardware manufacturer to decide if they want to support this feature.
