When can we expect to purchase the announced Thoshiba Qosmio Q30 laptop in the UK?

I'm particularly interested in the HD aspects including the HD-DVD drive. I already have a Sony HDR-HC1 which can record 1080p but at the moment have no way of viewing 1080p content.

The HDR-HC1 actually records video at 1440x1080i and plays it back at 1920x1080i. Are you talking about an application that can deinterlace this to 1080p and record this direct to disc? This would be very interesting.

Just a typo... For 1080i, frames are captured at 1,440 x 1,080. But the pixels are non-square, so the 16:9 picture aspect ratio is maintained.
