OK....gonna plunge in and add a few for your delectation!

These were taken today at Heysham Head, overlooking Morecambe Bay

This is of the famous carved-stone graves
28013
I was trying to capture the sunset by using an 80d filter over a circular polariser....really difficult to get any foreground detail without blowing out the sky......This isn't too bad for a first go (I hope!)

I was trying to capture the moon over the runs of an old church.....Must get a decent zoom lens....(more money:eek::eek::eek:)
28014

And finally...a beach shot...
28015

I have a load more that I took...just haven't time to process them...in addition a few more of mine can be found here (http://public.fotki.com/Gadfium/)

Comments & Critique welcome!:smashin: or :thumbsdow

The first shot is really tranquil. Perfect timing on the shot just as the suns setting, Same with the 2nd shot, you've really captured a peaceful moment.

I know what you mean about the moon, I’ve tried a few shots too, but without the a better zoom I get similar results.

The only thing I would say is the frame seems to draw my attention away from the picture, something a little softer perhaps?

All great pictures, nice one!

I was coming home from work (the power station) on Monday morning and the view across the bay was really clear, I wish I had a decent zoom lens. :(

Ahh....so you work in that monstrosity in Heysahm (only joking:grin:)

You really can't beat half Moon Bay for some of the most stunning sunsets you are ever likely to see... Fantastic light yesterday evening (I was coming back from a blood donation) at about 7:45.......the sky was almost pure gold....

Went for a mooch around the Holker Hall gardens on Friday....

Great tulips, took one the other day of red tulips (well about 12 actually forgot camera was on burst mode !) and the reds just blended in to each other.

The more I see of the shots from a DSLR the more I want one.

Thanks Bill,

For me, getting the DSLR was a real step forward. I have always been interested in photography, and have played around with compacts (my wife is a snapshot maniac....I originally bought a digital to cut down on the developing costs **sigh** wishful thinking**:().
The DSLR purchase has made an interest into a hobby (albeit a bl**dy expensive one!)...i don't regret getting it for a moment!

Cheers:thumbsup: . I really need to do some post processing to lighten the shadows.....getting the time to do it is the issue:mad:

I like it as is. I suppose technically I should prefer the last one, as it has better contrast, but the slightly 'flat' nature of the photo and the browness gives it character

You wouldn't have fancied the walk down then, in 2' of snow....couldn't find the damn path, and with a serious drop to reward a missed footing!!

Cheers mate, thanks for the compliment. I like the way that the sunlight mirrors the angle of the tree branches, though I should really try to highlight the sunlight a bit more in Photoshop (as ever, getting the time to do it is the problem:god:)

Last month I had the good fortune to attend the British Grand Prix at Silverstone for a work commitment:thumbsup::thumbsup:. I had the full monty, helicopter ride in and out of the circuit with hospitality at the Vale stand.

Needless to say, the camera went with me, accompanied by the 70-200 and a Kenko 1.4 teleconverter...
