Help getting the Pioneer 989 setup correctly

so many settings, so many choices, so little time......................

anyone with a Pioneer 989 & know what their doing have a list of recommended settings for this beauty.
it's hooked up to a Pioneer 434 HDE at the moment but in 3 weeks it will be hooked up to a Infocus IN76.

It may be my eyes, but the 1080i looks a tad better than 720p ?????

Any help greatly appreciated

I think for plasma 1080i downscled can look a tad better, but usualy you try to match or as near as the native res. but this will depend on the quality of the scaler in each device.

other than that set HDMI detail to 1 or 2 clicks past centre, turn other noise reduction features down, try 12bit component as this adds better graduation of colours. set prog motion down to slow to avoid some deinterlacing issues.

Set brightness and contrast correctly with a calibration disc (most important) and have fun finding out what everything else does
