Denon 1920 with Hitachi 7200

Is anyone running a 7200 with a Denon 1920? I would be grateful for your views on the PQ. Also , is HDMI better than component.

Stunning - in a word!
I take it you have run the TV for a fair few hours now - if not the PQ will get better in time.
Whack on Star Wars ep3 - hubba hubba!

Thanks for that Denzil. The 7200 doesnt actually arrive until Wednesday but I am gonna buy a Dvd player tomorrow and wanted some feedback before I invest. Is it worth buying a decent HDMI lead or is the comp picture on a par with it?

I'm not sure if the picture is actually upscaled via comp!
I'll have a look for you in the morning!
Some places will include the cable - AV land did for me!

PQ from 1920 to 7200 via a decent hdmi cable is stunning

Have seen other dvds with better pq from component than the 1920, and nevertheless it is not upscaled from component

Good choice for both though IMO

Cheerz

Thanks for that Denzil & Camorra. Decision made: Denon 1920 it is...if I can find one here in NI Ireland that is!

That link I posted will ship to NI - for a little extra of course - but, weigh up the fact that they are throwing in a HDMI cable too - they can cost a fair price!

I have a 42PD7200 & I had a 1920.

As a DVD player it was (as has been said), nothing short of stunning, but it is seriously flawed when playing DivX/XviD files as it puts them in a window all round the image-so much so that the film you are watching has black borders all the way round it.

(I had mine connected by HDMI if that's any help, but it did the same when I tested it via Scart)

HTH.

It does this via component as well.

FYI:- Component out gives an excellent picture and to be honest I saw no difference between normal progressive scan and 720p / 1080i upscaled on my Sammy SP50 via HDMI
