View Full Version : BT free 12 months live on broadband ?

hi...anybody else having a nightmare trying to get their free 12 months membership code from BT having signed up for broadband ?
i've been fobed off so many times,nobody really wants to know once they've got your money they dont give a sh*t...3 weeks now and still no joy...

phone them up, tell them unless they give you a working code you will take them to court for false advertising and breaking a contract......

i am suggesting this on the assumption you have actually phoned them up and asked when you will receive the code.......if you havnt done that then i suggest you do it in a normal, polite and friendly manner........its only when they still refuse to give you what they should do that you get nasty (by nasty i mean threaten them with legal action, dont swear or anything, that looks worse from a courts point of view)

i rang them up and was told to call back tomorrow as its only been 13 days since bb activation (it states u will have it within 14 days)

seems a bit odd i aint got it now why they cant chase it now as it prob wont be here tomoz!

i got through to a manager there...she promised to sort it out (last week) she made a schoolboy error though by giving me her direct number...as god is my witness i will pester her do death till she sorts it out...once she does i will post it here...

lol, nope, i'm a very polite person and have always found this gets me so much further in situations than acting angry.........certainly never had to go as far as court to get something happening......but i also dont take bullcrap answers from them either, i'm fairly clued up in most regards to the way jobs work and its usually fairly easy for me to talk to someone who can actually get done what i need, rather than someone just saying 'yeah i'll get it done sometime or something'.........only ones who got me on a garden path once was Sky, i'd gone past the limit for SBO funds on my account (didnt know that was how it worked, i figured i just got billed on my account, didnt realise there was a limit to prevent people overspending)......and couldnt order the WWE event i wanted, so i phoned up, obviously to get some comission she convinced me i couldnt do it via handset in time, that i'd have to book it over the phone now, so i said so long as i can still record it to my Sky+ box as i dont want to watch it at 1am then thats ok, so she said yes i can.......so she ordered it, i waited on the phone with her till it showed up on my planner.....then i tried hitting the record button as it was only showing a reminder clockface, didnt work, she said hold on i'll put you thru the sky technical team they should be able to tell you how it works......i'm presuming at this point she put me thru to a friend rather than a techie......i got told by this next person to book it record manually.....this seemed to work, so i hung up and got on with life....

woke up next day, went out, got food, lots of wine, sat down, didnt work....recorded the 2 minutes before the program then showed a signal not recieved marker.........so i phoned up sky and quite calmly explained that i'd been lied to about recording a phone booked SBO program and that i wasnt at all happy with that service....so they said it was still not possible to get the bar taken off my handset booking facility yet for some reason or another but she would book me another showing (as it was repeated every 3 hours) at 9pm if that was ok for me, i said i guess it will have to do, but i want the original one refunded, so she passed me to her manager who agreed it was the decent thing to do....heh
