Another Squeezebox question

Hi, I'd like to get one of these, but they're not on sale in France (as usual, France is the last place to get anything).

I was thinking of ordering one from Germany, but there's something that I'd like to be sure of first :

Can you change the display language on the Squeezebox ? I want it to display in English, and not German. Do they ship with multiple language Software (like a Mac for example) ? Or do I need to download something ?

If I can't sort this out, then I'll just get a Soundbridge (they do those over here)

I'll have a check on mine in a second, but I'm almost positive they are all multi-language.

Could you not buy one from the UK if not? I'm sure some of them will post abroad (I can look into getting one for you if not)

Andrew

You should order a pair from the US - they are doing a $100 off and international shipping is only $50 and is delivered within three days. If you don't want the other one sell it on eBay for a profit! It will even be shipped with the correct plug.

Andrew, thanks for the info. I was hoping to pick one up in Blighty next month, but as u pointed out in another thread, it has a three-pronged UK plug moulded Adapter. I suppose I could buy a better quality aftermarket PSU (which theoretically, should improve the DAC performance ).

brook, if I order from the US, I have to take into account the following...

Conversion to Euros,
+Conversion Charge,
+2.5 % of the value for Customs Duty,
+19.6 % of the TOTAL value inc, postage for French VAT,
+Possibly a handling charge for certain Courriers, usually 12 euros for Chronopost (THIEVES !!!!),

I'll have a look anyway

I've had a look at ordering from the States. It really is not worth the hassle...

here in TW, I need to pay 10% import duty x 10% commodity tax x 5% VAT! and tax base is CIF, not FOB! really greedy gov't!
