View Full Version : Is Tom Tom on the windscreen illegal in France?

I have heard rumours that any windscreen mounted object is illegal in France. I suspect that this is because people are classifing Tomtom (etc..) as rader based speed detectors which I know are illegal over there.
Can anyone confirm as I am driving to EuroDisney soon.....:smashin:

Can't confirm for sure, but I drove around France last year with my sat nav on the windscreen and there were no issues.
I seem to remember French cars having theirs on the windscreen as well. Perhaps you could ask one of the motoring organisations if they know?
I wouldn't be suppirsed at all if it was illegal and i'm sure it will be here sooner or later,the vision was that bad through my windscreen the other week i had to use the satnav just to see where i was going.:grin:
