Upgrading/replacing Yamaha Amp

Hi guys,

I am hoping to replace my old (7yr) Yamaha DSP-A592 next month and I'm now starting to look around for the best I can get for around £3-500. I have been very happy with my old Yamaha and would prefer to keep one as most of my kit is Yamaha, also it NEEDS to be black. Should I go for new or secondhad as Yamaha A1's seems to be selling now in my price range?? also are AV recievers ok? as this will enable me to loose the tuner in my rack.

Question I also have is with optical as my current unit does not have any but would need 5 inputs (Xbox, DVD, DVD recorder, Sky+ & CD player) does optical give full 5.1 or do you still need phono's?? as my current amp is connected via 6 phono's to my amp to give DD. Also all of my other kit has optical but currently using phono due to the amp for everything.

My speaker set up is a sig below but I'm on the look out to move the front B&W 601's to the rear and get new fronts (secondhand 603's)

Any advise/suggestions welcomed

Regards
