Slight lip-sync on freeview - 360 MCE

Hi,

Just got my 360 streaming from my PC which has twin Black Gold cards. Works great, apart from the slightly slow channel change! However, I have a slight lip-sync problem. Has anybody else seen this and is there anything I can do with the codec to fix it?

Thanks
Mark

There's some audio delay settings in the Nvidia PureVideo decoder settings if that's what you've got?

Hi,

Well, I downloaded the trial version which I can use but I didn't see any options to do that (I'm sure I have seen your comments about this somewhere on the forums!). Can you point me to where I can get this from? And will it affect my 360 streaming correctly?

Thanks for your help on this.

Cheers
Mark

Yep, you have to be running something that uses the codec to be able to access the controls. So TV or a DVD and then window or minimise MCE whilst it's playing on the Media Centre.

You'll then see the Nvidia PureVideo decoder control icon in the icons at the bottom right of the screen.
Look under the audio and speaker sections.

I don't know if it will help with 360 streaming, it's unlikely, but it may give you something to work on.

The best way for lipsync I've found is usually only via a reasonable external amp that has the settings.

But nothing ventured ...

Hope it's of some use?

Hi,

Chances of me getting an external amp are pretty slim! However, I will try it.

Don't know if the PC decodes or the 360 decodes at this point. If it's the PC then I'll be ok, otherwise I am kind of stuffed.

Thanks, will report when I give it a go!

Regards
Mark

The extender decodes.

I sometimes see a bit of lipsync problem, but find hitting skip back resyncs.

Hi,

Well that is interesting. If I want to run Hi-Def (.ts files), I don't need a piece of decoding software to run it then on the PC to run it on the 360?

It's not so much lip-sync, but the frame rate isn't as smooth as my Thomson Freeview DHD-4000 box so it looks out. Infuriating as the decoder must be on the 360. Which I can't change ... clearly.

Cheers
