printer sharing

hello,i need your help again.
i have a netgear dg834g adsl router connected to the main p.c what i want to be able to do is share the printer the is connected to the main p.c with my daughters wireless laptop would someone be able to advise me of the best way to do this,will i need any type of software ect.
both are runnning windows xp home edition

alright there i did the same thing no softwear required just make sure your puter is set up for files and printer sharing and your firewall is setup also i found with mine norton took a bit of messing about and then go to control pannel printers and faxes then add printer and then windows will take it from there if they dont show up like on mine it wud probably be your firewall hope this helps

thanks for the quick reply ,i have done all of that and when i try to add a printer on the laptop i click search for a printer,it finds the printer,when i click next it says the printer name i typed must be spelt wrong,i have checked the printer name,i have even changed the printer name but no result yet:

if you've got the printer shared, and any PC firewalls setup properly, then you can connect to the printer using UNC


on the laptop, just do start > run > \\pcname\printername and click OK


or just type \\pcname, click OK, and double click on the printer.
