Sky by Broadband has joined forces with Intel to bring on-demand digital entertainment to the home with Intel Viiv technology.</P><P>Entertainment PCs based on Intel Viiv technology are designed to make it easier for people to view, manage and share digital entertainment and information in the home. With Intel Viiv technology, families interact with their PC in a similar way to how they operate a television by using a single remote control. The platform includes the Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 operating system and media software allowing people to watch a movie or play a game while also downloading the latest music, all from one integrated system.</P><P>Sky by Broadband allows Sky digital viewers in the UK and Ireland to legally download and watch a range of movies and Sky Sports highlights through a broadband connection at no extra cost. The service has been developed to work with Intel Viiv technology-based PCs and currently offers over 1,000 sports clips and over 200 movies, including Spider-Man 2, The Day After Tomorrow and Layer Cake.

WHy do you have to have a subscription with there Sky Digital TV System , can't they just haev a seperate subscription for people who only want the broadband thingy...

Be interesting to see how this interacts with the Apple Mac version of the Intel Viiv chipset that is rumoured to be at the heart of the forthcoming mediamac ... ??

surely the video ipod is a must have patform for them as well ?
