Hi, before I start I just wanted to preface this by saying that I love my TT One. An absolute must have gadget that has served me so well since I bought it just before Christmas.
Anyway, my question. Am I doing this wrong.
I recently wanted to travel from London to the train station in Meopham, Kent. Train stations are in the Points of Interest, but if you try to navigate to a POI when you are situated a long way away, it only comes up with POI within a certain radius of where you currently are. In this case, a bit of outside the box thinking got me out of this. I simply put the destination as Station Road, Meopham and it worked just fine, but presumably this won't always work.
Do I have to drive toward Meopham and then when I get within say 15 miles re-calculate to the fresh POI list or is there actually a way of expanding the POI list to include for example, all stations, in UK?
:lesson: :lease:
You are correct in saying that it will display the closest (30 or so?) POIs, what you need to do is "Navigate to ...", and chosse POI, then use the keyboard symbol to key in the Town closest to the POI you want. The closest POI's to that town are then shown. :)

I was loaned TomTom One last night to have a play and was very impressed with it.
How often does TomTom update their maps? Do you get free upgrades?

The maps are supplied by a third party so TomTom have no control however I have had mine since December and have had one email so far advising of an update that can be downloaded from their website.
Having said that, the update still didn't have a major junction change near my house on the M2 which changed several years ago. If you drive the new route it recognises the road so it must have been on there as a proposed new road, but if you didn't know the way it tries to get you to go the old way which isn't there anymore.
I still think that it is a great navigation tool.
Apparently you can email them or the map company to advise them if you find a discrepancy and they supposedly send someone out to check it out for future updating!

Yeah its free but not sure if there is a time limit that they will provide them gratis. I received an email with a link that was personalised to me. I then had to log in with password to obtain the download.
I've not tried adding my own point of interest so don't know if it can be done.

when youve activated your product on the tomtom website they will then email you as they know what model and more importantly what version of software you have on it. Subcription and activation to updates is free and there is a feedback button and a fom to fill in. Is an excellent device for navigation however when i want to go onto a motor way it tries and takes me down a private farm track through the crash barrier onto the motorway!!, this has never to my knoledge wel not in the past 10 years been an entry point to the motorway so how is it still on there?? would be very annoying for people who didnt actually know how to get to the motorway, guess this is just part of the 1% of the roads its not acurate and the 99% being around big cities as aposed to rural Lincolnshire!!
Also you can add favourites (POI) so thats handy
