Parking?
Reading the shows website, it appears that some of the local car parks are shut? Can someone with local knowledge give a heads up on the car parking situation for us drivers.
Thanks

Hi.
Some of the local car parks are indeed shut as Broadmead, the centre of Bristol, where the hotel in which the show is based is having major surgery. However, there is a car park right next to the hotel which should be open and there are several others opposite as well as other sites dotted near by ~ you can simply follow the signs. I cant envisage finding somewhere to park being a major issue.
Pete.

One of the NCP carparks that was on the opposite side of the dual carriage way to the Marriot, has been demolished. There is a lot of redevelopment work being carried out in the centre of Bristol and I feel parking will be difficult.

So for someone driving, is there any sort of Park and Ride or similar system in Bristol. I'm coming M4, and M32 (I think that the correct motorway). Or is there a nearby railway station to park at, and catch a short train ride in?

As you travel down into the centre of Bristol, towards the end of the M32 there are some very large multi-storey carparks on your left. It just means that you'll have a few more yards to walk to the venue. The convenient parking has all but disappeared for the time-being due to the redevelopment works.
Unless you arrive there early, the carpark that adjoins the Marriot will be full.

Yep....they may well be the best bet [Newfoundland Way]...a short walk away from the marriot [10 mins max]...not sure of the charges though....if they are NCP you'll need a second mortgage..

Parking
For everyones info. the carparks mentioned on the left coming off the M32 are all gone under the new development. The Galleries (Mall) carpark or Nelson st car park (NCP) turn right at the end of M32 ( macdonalds in front of you), are the nearest but will get full early on the Sat. and Sunday. Good Luck.

I expect the Car Park next to the Marriot and the Galeries will fill up by 11am. But there are numerous other car parks on the right side of the ring road (as you get to the bottom of the M32. Trenchard Street will have lots of space, is a 10 min brisk walk to the show but cheap! The others are well signposted.
Sunday shopping is not big in the centre of Bristol so I don't think there will be too many problems. I don't think there is a Park and Ride from the north of Bristol (Not when I was commuting 6 months ago) but they may have added one since they flattened the North West of Bristol. Amazing amount of demolition has gone on!
There are park and ride schemes from the Portway/A4 junction on the M5 and also to the south side of Brislington.

On Saturday's Avon Ambulance Car park is open to the public - it costs £1.50 for all day, so it will fill up quick. It is across the road from the Marriott on the corner of Castle Street and Queen Street.

There is no park and ride to the north of Bristol, but if you leave the M5 at J17 and come down the A4018 as far as the Downs you can park in Redland or Clifton for free and then catch one of the frequent buses down Whiteladies Road to the centre (as I will on Friday!).
Looking forward to the day out

We found it OK in the end. We got to the end of the M32 around 9.40am, turned right and took the first parking we could find, The galleries? Straight in, and a short walk to the hotel. We left just before 6 hours was up so only cost £6. Excellent.
With all the building work thats happening, and with Monsters warning above, I'm not surprised you got caught Gary
