Does anyone own one of these. Is it worth the £1800 upgrade price.
I am leasing a car and am undecided as to whether to go for this option.
Does anyone know if you can connect your ipod to this unit
Thanks for your help

Dear Nathan
I have just purchased one of hese for my new Mondeo and am finding it useless and not worth the extra cost. The maps are completely out and the display is nowhere near as good as the cheapest TOM Tom

the other day I spoke to two people who were struggling to find a location using sat nav, niether of the systems could use postcodes and both were "in-built" car units - I have always used post codes on my 3rd party sat nav, if the ford one cant do post codes give it a miss. Buy a third paty one for £100.
Hi there,
I wanted to know if any one has ford mondeo touch screen sat nav.
If any does if they can email me on rrkotadia7@aol.com
It would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Got a Titanium X as a company runaround (with dvd satnav)
The DVD Sat Nav looks nice and it's well flashy but it's not worth the money IMO £1800 :suicide: have not had any issues with the touch screen as previously mentioned by someone. :)
It's a fixed unit so you can not move it to your preffered position as you can with a tomtom etc....... also you don't get the 6 indash CD stacker, instead there is an external 6CD multibox in the boot.
If you want to update it you have to buy new discs rather than just plugging it in to the USB on you PC and downloading what you need as is the case with the stand alones.
Mondeo's (Ghia Titanium and above regardless of satnav) built after June 2006 have a usb port in the glove box for MP3 (ipod included) connection. :smashin:
All in all I would go for a stand alone satnav, as it is easier to update and you can move it to a position of your choice in the car. Also you will not get much back when it comes to resale so in theory I guess the dvd satnav option makes the car depreciate faster.

we have had the Ford DVD TouchScreen satnav since 2004 and really like it. The screen is massive 7 inches, nearly twice as big as the equiv dated TomToms also the instrument cluster has a mono display showing you where to go. The integrated phone works great as does the iPos aux connector. The tmc is great and in built and there is a great selection of POIs too.
You do get an in dash CD and MP3 player plus a six CD changer under the seat.
Its expensive but I like it. It also has all teh DATC integrated as well.

so if its that good why do ppl complain about mondeo's sat nav system ?

The version in our CMax which is the same as the one in the Mondy cost 2 grand. For that some people want the moon on a sitck - i.e. the impossible. They want it to do this that and the other. The point is is DOES do full postcode search, its does intergrate with you dash board and rev counter displasys, it does have TMC, it does have bluetooth etc etc.
ITs a great system. its 7 inches wide. ITs clear and it works.

I have been trying to decide whtehr to buy this as an extra on a Galaxy, but wanted to compare it to TomTom. Does it have camera locations and other POIs? can it be updated?
thanks
