Help with "learning" and universal remotes

I have a Goodmans GTV15LCD tele (its a wee 15inch one, as the name suggeests)

Goodmans say they dont know of any universal remotes which work for it, so I was wondering if a remote with "learning" functions could be used to operate this?

Am I just being thick, or would a "learning" universal remote be able to mimic the originals remotes frequency?

A learning remote will do just that. Learn the IR codes from your original remote.

Most learning remotes can't operate B&O stuff but as your TV is not B&O you will be fine.

I don have the tvs original remote. sorry not explaining myself well!!!
I have the original but want a universal so i dont have to use one for EVERY different appliance. BUT every universal Ive tried (non-learning ones) the codes dont work on my set.

I justed wanted to clarify if a "learning" univeral could learn the basics (off/on, vol) off my original (without typing in codes etc)

Cheers! sorry Im being dence (I have a bad cold)

Your 1st sentence says you DON'T have the original.
Your 2nd sentence says you DO have the original.

How confusing

A learning remote will learn the commands from the original remote, if you have it.

If you don't have the original remote, a learning remote can't be used as it has nothing to teach it.

Hope this helps.

That was a typo !!!(hence no "t" on dont - i have a bit of a cold and my typing is sloppy - sorry)
Both lines were ment to read "I DO have the original..."

I said if the univeral remote cant work on the tv SET, by using the codes you get with them or the "auto find" functions, would it still be able to learn from the remote

I know my question is a bit stupid and maybe not clear, but this is what I was hoping to find out

Anyways, now i have CLARIFIED, can you shed any light?

cheers
