Need some help regarding an older 60" magnavox

Had the tv for a while and recently sold it to a friend. It worked fine @ my house then i unplugged it and it sat in the kitchen for a few weeks untill he could pick it up. Once @ his house it now is showing the Blue Green and Red lights just blaring through.. You can still the picture but these lights are overpowering almost like looking @ carheadlights.. Anyone have a clue as to why this is? I went in to the back of the tv and looks like you can raise and lower the lights level a little bit but this didnt make a difference.. Any insight would be great..
Thanks in advance

Magnavox = a US brand, right? FYI: Most of the members here are from the UK. Whilst we can and will try to help in general terms, specific knowledge of your equipment is likely to be patchy.

So - general comment about CRT rear projection TVs: The image should be projected onto the back of a screen which is rather like frosted glass. Is this still there and is it still "frosted"?
