More Harmony 525? think not!

Hi all,
Like a lot of people, I have purchased a Harmony 525 to hopefully replace a number of other remotes.

I have looked here and on other sites, but still my problems persist.
Am I right in assuming that when setting it up its best to configure one remote at a time? I have tried downloading/installing my modest collection, but when I alter anything, I find that it alters other settings, but don't know why. must be a wrong setting somewhere

All I have so far is the following:
(All are connected to the scart router)

NTL Digital STB (Samsung SMT2100C)
Sony TV
LiteOn 5006 DVD recorder
Holdan HSR 1000 scart router
Marantz CD67SE
Nad C 320 amp

Also when having downloaded, many of the options don't refer to most of the options on the actual remotes. Is this normal, I would have thought that when typing in a specific peice of kit, it would know about all the commands to do with it.

I have been using the online update site as opposed to the software version.
Any help would be appreciated.

I do like the look and feel of the Harmony, but I get the impression its just a stop gap for something better.

Don't worry too much about making your device modes perfect, because once the remote is properly set up you'll never use them. Just make sure the power and input commands are correct(learn them manually if not), and you know what they do(ie do you have direct input selection commands available like InputComponent - if you do make sure you use these later for the activity setup)

Once all your devices are entered on the website, concentrate on setting up your activities. Make sure you add all your commonly used commands to the activities that need them and you will never need to use device mode.
