Hi People,

Some forthcoming UK and US DVD’s I thought that you all might want to investigate, and/or save-up your pennies for. :grin: Details were correct at the time of writing. :)


February/March 2006
Region 1
- The Flintstones (Season 5 Boxed Set)
- Disney’s Lady And The Tramp (2-Disc Special Edition)
- The Simpsons: Kiss And Tell (Four romantic episodes!)
- The Batman (Complete Season 1 of the new animated series.)
- Teen Titans (Complete Season 1 of the new animated series.)
- Alien Nation (Complete TV Series Boxed Set)
- Star Trek: Fan Collective – Best Of “Borg” Episodes (4-disc Boxed Set)

Region 2
- Monty Python And The Holy Grail: Special Edition (2-Disc release, with tons of extras, plus the entire CD soundtrack to the new “Spamalot” Broadway Theatre show, on a 3rd disc!)
- Samurai Jack (Complete Season 1 Boxed Set)
- Tin-Tin: Feature Film Boxed Set (Three animated movies on three discs.)
- Planet Of The Apes: Ape Head Ultimate DVD Collection (Deluxe, limited-edition boxed set, in the style of an Ape head, containing 12 DVD’s! The set includes: All 5 original “Apes” movies, all 14-episodes of the short-lived US TV series, plus the Tim Burton “Ape” remake, plus all new Bonus Material, including audio commentaries, documentaries, interviews, cast and crew featurettes, etc, etc. RRP £150 approx)
- The Simpsons: Kiss And Tell (as per Region 1 release, mentioned above)


March/April 2006
Region 1
- Gantz: Complete Season 1 DVD Boxed Set (The controversial anime series, gets released in one, giant boxed-set, with 10 discs, and Bonus Material.)
- Ghost In The Shell: Official Log Book - Volume 2 (The second book and DVD combo-pack, discussing and analysing Season 1 of the GITS: Stand Alone Complex TV series, Episodes 20-26 only. Volume 1 covered episodes 1-19 inclusive! A Region 2 release is also due later in Aprul/May 2006, from Manga Entertainment UK!)
- Aeon Flux: Complete Animated Collection DVD Director’s Cut Boxed Set (All of the Aeon Flux animations, as originally aired on MTV in the USA, but in longer, uncut Director’s Cuts, including new material never-seen before.)
- He-Man & She-Ra Christmas Special (Yes, the only episode where the brother and sister actually star alongside one another. All 51 minutes of the 1985 TV Holiday special.)
- Battlestar Galactica: Season 2.0 DVD Boxed Set (Three-Disc DVD set, containing all 20 episodes from the new remake of the classic US sci-fi show, from Season 2! Minimal extras, however!)
Ray Harryhausen DVD Giftset (Three-disc set with “King Kong: 20 Million Miles To Earth” (1957), “It Came From Beneath The Sea” (1955), and “Earth Vs The Flying Saucers” (1956) movies on DVD, plus a large, 34-page collectible scrapbook discussing Ray Harryhausen’s animated creations.)
- Godzilla: Final Wars (Probably the last-ever true Godzilla movie to be made, comes to DVD, with both an English dubbed, and English subtitles audio tracks.)

Region 2
- Steamboy (2-disc release of the anime sensation, from Akira director Katsuhiro Oromo. English-dubbed and English subtitled audio tracks. Some extras, and DD5.1 soundtracks. No confirmation about any DTS audio tracks, as of yet.)
- Battle Royale 2: Revenge Tin Edition (2-disc, deluxe Tin Edition of the sequel to the controversial best-seller, in a shiny, metal tin to sit alongside the Tin Edition of the original movie! All-new Extras, as well, plus a film Senitype cell. Limited Edition.)

He-Man & She-Ra Christmas Special i saw this in asda before christmas is the new version a special edition? hopefully 2 discs dts-es etc:grin:

:confused: Is this a different release from the one that came out in Dec? I have that disc and it's pretty good - I'm not sure why they would need a second release so quickly! :confused:

Hardly likely - to be fair, no disrespect to Pooch, there's a bit of erroneous info.

Aeon Flux came out in November 2005 (I've got it), BSG S2 was out in December 2005 (I'm currently reviewing it and is 3 disc, 10 eps), as I believe was the Ray Harryhausen gift set and Alien Nation was January (review in the TV Forums).

Don't forget that Justice League is also out in a few months. I can't wait for some decent releases of Teen Titans. :)

I believe Teen Titans S1 is down for review in February in the TV Section EJ :)

Very much looking forward to it Seth, one of the best things on TV at the moment and it gets even better with the later series. :smashin:s

they have the planet of the apes on play.com for £120 it looks great:thumbsup:
