I've broken the suction mount of my wife's 700
Looking around the web, I have been unable to find a standalone suction mount. As there is nothing wrong with the docking shoe, I was wondering if anyone knows of somewhere to get just the mount.
Failing that, I've come across a replacement docking mount that includes the shoe and a 12V adaptor at satnav2u for £26. They also had a mount for the TomTom one for £21 which looked the same apart from the docking shoe. Can someone tell me if the suction mount on the One is the same as that on the 700 because, if it is, that will do for me.

Tried Currys and the like but no luck. Sent TomTom an email and they said that you can only buy the mount as a full assembly with the 12V lead. They didn't answer my question regarding the compatability of the tomtom one and 700 mounts. Personally, I think that the suction part is identical but I don't want to take a chance. I'm going to order the mount from satnav2u. I suppose the extra docking shoe might come in handy one day and, at £26, it's only a fiver more than the tomtom one mount (TomTom's online store have the mount priced at 49 euros or about £34). If it wasn't so badly damaged i'd try their warranty service

On the advice of a work collegue, I phoned tomtom directly (you can get their phone number from the website) and told them that the arm which is attached to the sucker broke when trying to remove it from the windscreen. The customer service guy admitted that there was a weakness with the mount and that a replacement would be sent out within 5-10 working days. The replacement is a newer, more reliable version called the TomTom Herbert Richter Global 2 suction mount/Base. Not sure what it looks like though. To get the replacement meant logging on to the tomtom site and providing your address details (do this before phoning as they'll want your email address to send you a mail). The customer service fella describes what to do next. The great thing about this is the fact that you don't have to show proof of purchase or send your damaged mount back to them!
Hope this will be of help to some of you ;)
