Corpse Bride
My DVD copy of Tim Burton's Corpse Bride turned up yesterday and I settled the family down to watch it with mixed feeling as to if they would enjoy it. I had watched Corpse Bride with some friends at the cinema and I wasn't that impressed but it was a reasonably cheap DVD release that would have left a gap in my Tim Burton DVD collection so it was a certain purchase for me. I must admit to being pleasantly surprised to the entire family's response to the film - the kids were even singing some of the (Danny Elfman) songs this morning - even I enjoyed it more
I was a bit disappointed that it was a single disk release but after a cursory flick through the extras aren't too bad, and its not as if a Tim Burton commentary is something I look forward.
So, has anybody else picked this up on DVD yet?

I loved the Nightmare Before Christmas but have heard this a much blander offering. Will probably pick it up at some point, although I'm more interestd W&G: Curse of the Were-Rabbit tbh.

I was fairly bored by this at the cinema, particularly the weak songs, and I *loved* TNBC, but I'll probably pick up the R2 sometime soon, considering it's less than a tenner some places, because I'm such a sucker for gothy stop-motion.

Currently watching this for review Tej - I won't elaborate here (you'll have to wait a day or 2). On the flip side, I couldn't care about W&G - I've never found them remotely entertaining (luckily, I'm NOT reviewing that)!

My copy arrived on Wednesday, I hadnt seen it at the pictures but im a pretty big NBC fan so decided to get it. I enjoyed the film it wasnt NBC by any means but wasnt too bad and some of the songs were good. Im sure it said it was THX certified in a magazine somewhere so was a little disapointed when it wasnt but NVM.

Looking forward to it mate, hope to be proved wrong about it as I'm a bit fan of Tim Burton's vision. The more pertinent question however is, how can you not like W&G, they always hit the right note for me. I just love the subtle humour employed in the cartoons to date. Surely you must at least lke The Wrong Trousers, (my fave)?!?!?

Nope - not a single one of them. Can't see how people find them amusing. Nicely done, animation wise, but funny? Not to me, I'm afraid.

I think I may have to agree with you.
They are well executed & ok but nothing to write home about & I just never found them remotely funny.
The movie just seems pointless to me really, I've never even considered watching it & to be honest dont think I ever will.
I much prefer their Creature Comforts animations to be completley truthful.
