As I´m a huge fan of these fantastic characters - hence my user name. I thought Wallace and Gromit deserve their own thread since the DVD is soon to hit the streets around the world.

Region 2 UK will be getting a 2-discer. Whereas, the rest of the world probably only will be getting a single disc. Although, no confirmation has been released yet as to what will actually be on the various DVDs.

Please, feel free to add any news on the upcoming DVDs that you may fiind.

Here is the info I have been able to dig up so far.

Although I can't find it now, I'm sure I read that the american version was altered as some of the jokes would be lost in translation!

Does anyone know what the limited packaging for amazon.co.uk (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000E5O7WS/qid=1137941120/sr=2-3/ref=sr_2_11_3/203-5863732-7072760) will be? Is it just a different picture on the front or will the actual packaging be different?

I think your link answers your own question Tejstar. If you follow it there is a 'more pictures' link below the dvd picture which leads to three further pictures and if you click the one on the right there is a picture of the normal dvd case with the exclusive slipcase separate.

cheers, count

Oh my word in all these years of using amazon I've never noticed that 'more pictures' link! You're right it has the description there too! :)

Thanks for pointing that out. :smashin:

Just seen a spec for the 2 Disc Region 2 release and it lists the 9 Deleted Scenes so definitely seems like the release to go for.

I think the only significant difference is the Second Disc with 10 Short Flms.
I think I'll save a few bob and get the region 3 release as this can be picked up quite cheap at CD WOW. Not a big fan anyway :)

We are reviewing it Gromit - sadly, the studios haven't/aren't sending a PR copy so we've ordered it via a sponsor (CD-Wow).

It will be online as soon as (hopefully this week).

Oooh, I canīt wait to read your review. Itīs going to be Cracking good.

Perhaps, you could include a bit on the differences between the R2 vs. R1? That is if you feel like it. ;)

PS. A real shame the reviewers donīt get a PR copy anymore. :(

So where is going to be the best place to buy this?

I ask because the last few films which I pre-ordered online at what I thought were good prices ended up being the same price or less in Tesco as their special of the week.

I ordered the R2 from Filmnight.com for Ģ9.95 a couple of weeks ago (on its way to me now  )

Got a feeling it's gone back to Ģ15.95 now though.

OK I can't give you the password, but this is what I found here:
http://www.iofilm.co.uk/dvd/w/wallace_gromit_the_curse_of_the_wererabbit_2005.sh tml

Anti-Pesto SWAT Team: this bunny catching game has four stages, each one harder than the last, and if you capture sufficient bunnies, you earn yourself a password to crack open the Interactive DVD.

Looks like you'll have to work for it.

Alot of DVDs have interactive features, just close them down and run the DVD the standard way through PowerDVD or whatever software you use.

Those two rascals on our sofa have seen it a few times already! ;-)

I got the exclusive packaging from Amazon. The main DVD box is the same as everywhere else, but it comes with an extra cardboard sleeve cover.

This was the first time I ordered a DVD in advance of the official release-date on Amazon.

The official release date for Wallace and Gromit was Monday 20th Feb.
I received an email saying that it was "dispatched" on the 18th!
and it was on my doormat on Monday morning!

I ordered a different movie last year from the HMV website under similar circumstances. HMV ony dispatched it on the official release-date and I received it the following day.

In future, If I want to pre-order a DVD in advance of the official release-date, I will use Amazon!
