Do any of these new technologies have a bearing on the projector market or are they just for fixed screens ?

Although... it'd be fascinating to see an SED equivalent of a CRT front-projector: three one-colour SED panel images converged onto the same screen.

Funny you should say that about new technologies getting into projection. Just got an email from Toshiba about a new LED front projection. A business oriented model with 1,500:1 contrast @ 300Lux and has 10,000hr LED life. The thing weighs just 500g!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if it is going to be economical to replace. Or what factors it has on colour reproduction etc (it's essentially a DLP projector with an LED lamp source). Still interesting stuff.

Its way off (decade?) but apparently OLED screens will eventually be scaled up and if the wafer thin roll up aspect of the technology comes to fruition then your pull down dalite/ draper 106in screen for example will become the PJ. ie no need for a PJ. Your pull down screen will be the actual display device.
