Testing HD Capabilities of my Plasma

Hi,

I have heard that it's possible to test the HD capabilities of a plasma screen by displaying an HD video from your PC. Is that true, and if so, how do I do it?

I am a techy at heart, but in my mind I can't logically see how you can send an HD image to your plasma screen if your PC's video card is not designed to push out HD images.

Thanks.

VGA supports HD resolutions, typical PC screen resolutions like 1024x768 and above can be displayed (these are just 4:3 HD resolutions).
If your plasma has a VGA in, connect them up and try different resolutions (right-click desktop, properties, settings and change the resolution) to see if your plasma will display them correctly. As your plasma is probably widescreen, 1366x768 should be the main one to try.
Download some HD trailers, DivX.com etc. and try them out.
