3806/3910 Dlink Problem

Hi Guys, has anyone come across this problem?

I have just had a dealer mod my 3910 to MR, when i connect it into the 3806 the Dlink option in the 'Digital Interface Setup' of the 3910 is set to OFF and cannot be changed. When i purchased the player i remember having settings for Dlink2 and 3, but now i cannot access this function.

The firmware installed is ESS 6609-C.

Any ideas??? thanks...

I think I know what may have happened.

Most of the MR firmwares retailers supply will take away DL3 capabilities, however I'm surprised you can't get any Dlink function at all, should still have DL2, but adding that particular firmware to DL3 may have done this.

The Denon Link3 firmware is available from the handset hacks forum, which will replace the DL3 function - this entails burning 3 seperate iso files to 3 seperate cdr's on Nero, or similar & placing them in the 3910 as instructed. There is then the latest MR 6609-E software which will make it MR without taking away the DL3 function.

My retailer warned me that DL3 wasn't available as MR, but since the forums get hold of firmware before the shops do we can do this. However, I thought by now the retailers should be able to do this, although they aren't likely to have the latest MR firmware.

If you are confident at doing the above, then you can probably sort it yourself by checking out afforementioned thread. Otherwise, get back to your retailer & see what they say.

Hi thanks for the advice, i have been looking at the firmware hacks and the potential problems that can arise. I'm not very confident, so at this point i will see what the dealer can come up with. I will forward the information you gave, and see what they say.

thanks

Make sure there is no disk in the machine when changing those settings. Even the oldest firmware should give you DL2 or off as options.

Also make sure you haven't set HDMI audio to multi channel, or IEEE to ON or in the audio menu make sure source direct is set to OFF.

Problem solved, the settings were as suggested, so i guess a disk must have been in the player. I now have DLink3 and MR - Happy days......

Thanks guys....
