I read on the TAG website that you can connect a pair of headphones directly to the AV32R via the tape out phonos using a phono-headphone jack lead coupled to a male-female converter.

Fine, it all works and sounds great BUT it's way to loud. Try as I might, I couldn't find any way of adjusting the tape out level on the TAG so I guess I need some sort of passive volume control.

I had a look on the Maplin website but couldn't find anything suitable.

Does anyone know where I can get such a device or, preferably, any way of reducing the tape out level on the AV32R?

Many thanks.

Matt.

Come on - surely someone must know where I can get myself a passive volume control.

Keene / Lectrpacks should be able to help in their custom stuff. Basically you are after a 2 RCAs to a headphone socket?

Let us know how you get on.

Right, finally sorted it out. I already had all the leads (RCA/Phono - headphone jack plus a male-female converter) by the way - what I needed was a way of regulating the volume 'cus it was too loud.

The TAG tape-out output is fixed so no joy there but I finally found the solution after hours of searching on the web:

Sennheiser do a headphone extension cable (HZR6) that just so happens to have a passive volume control built into it for £22.95. So now I can listen to my HD600s coming directly from my Tag AV32R at a sensible volume - an aural treat awaits!
