Can anyone help where can I find out about DVD recorders and how much do they cost?

Do you want a standalone or PC version?
www.scan.co.uk do the PC versions for about £150 I think

As far as I can tell there are only two on the UK market at the moment: Philips and Panasonic. The cheapest I've found is £825 for the Panasonic and about £899 for the Philips.
Pioneer should release one shortly.
Check out the manufacturers web sites for the specs.
