glitch - no HDMI1 input on AVC A11XV

turned on TV (37PF9830) tonight to do a quick demo - it was still on Analogue channel - so switched it to HDMI input. Turned on Sony RDR HXD910 (freeview/DVD). Amp was already on - no display on TV!

When I went to setup I got the Denon setup screen (at 576p) - so link to TV still working ok. Played around with video settings to no avail.

Decided to try wiring Freeview/DVD directly to TV - voila - signal at 1920x1080i - fine.

So at this point it seemed that the AVC A11XV was having a problem with the HDMI1 input. (BTW note for others - and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like you shouldn't turn off analogue to HDMI convert even if you are just using HDMI inputs and outputs - because thats how the AVC A11XV does setup/OSD display itself - i.e. 576p OSD->HDMI output needs this to be on)

So... tried changing physical HDMI input to HDMI2, then selected this on DVD input video input page - got a signal - hurrah.

Changed everything back to HDMI1, then worked.

This is very strange - its not like I didn't try powering off all units when it was originally not having any luck on HDMI1 - so changing it to HDMI2 then back to 1 points to a s/w glitch on the A11XV.

Anyone else experienced this?

Bill

p.s. someone posted german site upgrade link for firmware update - any news for when this will be available in UK?

Can the Sony unit go via a HDMI repeater, if not that is the problem not the amp.

not sure about the HDMI repeater point - it worked for weeks - one night doesn't - then worked again - and it needed amp option change to bring it back to life - so think its an amp thing that went wrong
