Please help-urgently need new SCART!

My 80 quid Monster cable broke today. Suffice to say I am very annoyed. I am looking for a high quality replacement-not fussed about cost.

What would you recommend-there's so much information my brain's hurting!!

Cable Universe

Hi - Cable Universe do real cheap but superb quality scart leads (round and flat, varying lengths.) I have a 3M RGB lead from Tivo to TV and the colour saturation, skin tones, etc is spot-on and error-free. In fact this cable is the only one apart from a VGA one from the PC that I haven't needed to make myself as the picture quality is perfect.

Best of luck,
Paul.

Hi JamesP1701, as you state the choice of scart cables can be pretty bewildering. Do you need a fully wired scart cable or would you prefer a RGB only cable. The likes of Ixos, Supra, QED etc all make excellent scart cables, most well below £80 quid

Thanks for getting back to me. WHat's the difference between fully wired and RGB?

Get a QED P2110 for around 25-35 pound. Monster as you have found out to your cost make over-priced junk.

RGB has the wires or connections for RGB in it and nothing else.
This prevents any possible crosstalk or interference problems from the other connections (e.g. the audio ones).

Talking Flat quality scarts

You might try Lindy cables (lindy.com/uk), who make an excellent flat scart, which looks rather like the Ixos one . Both makes have segmented the flat cable to reduce interference.
Lindy premium scart - £21.99 1m includes 10yr warranty
Ixos XHT611 - £33 (1.5m) approx

Hi there

I am upgrading my DVD player, to get one with RGB scart capability. My TV accepts RGB - it is a Sony KV-32FX68 (32" CRT).

I am using an amp for audio (for DVDs and TV) - so am I correct in saying that I also need an RGB scart lead (for picture only)? If so, can you point me in the right direction please - high street prices are stupid!

Thanks.
