Toshiba 42WH36P to buy or not to buy?

I have a budget of only around £600 and would like a 42" screen, currently have a cheap Goodmans 32" crt. Will only be using it for dvds. I have taken a chance on the Toshiba 42WH36P for £580 inc a bit of discount from Argos in the sale brochure. Doesnt mention any model number in there but when i phone i was told it was this model. I know this an older model but i read that it was better than its successor. Anybody have any experience with this tv or currently own one who can let me know what they think of it as theres no chance i can view this anywhere. I have a bit of time to decide wether i want or not and the falling prices of plasmas is in the back of my mind. Im thinking very soon they will be around this price for a low end 42" one. Im not after a mind blowing picture but a decent one would be nice.

Hi, I have that model for over a year now, it's a good set, need a bit of tweaking once in a while but it is good. for that price you can't go wrong.
The picture is really good if it is well fed, NTL is alright, DVD is great over component.

Thanks for your replies. Have since read a few reviews giving it 3/5 mainly because of the convergance issues so thats putting me off a bit.
Jeje how frequently do you have to tweak it and by that do you mean via the service menu as per the details elsewhere on this forum? Sy1441 i was thinking about that one a few weeks back. It was in the pre xmas Argos sale for £600 but has since gone back up. Came with a stand as well i think. The Toshiba one doesnt for that price. Was wondering is it was neccassary to be on one. Do you have to be at a certain height in relation to the screen etc?

Thumbs up

have the toshiba 42 - excellent for the money - had mine 18 months and it settles down really well - even sky is looking better. As said before needs tweaking - there is an excellent guide on it here somewhere but you will need to search - but I would definitely give it a thumbs up
