So this hack makes the player multi-region forever? or do you have to do it every time?

It works

I just got one in France, and the region free trick works fine.

It has played all 3 R1 dvd's i tried, and right now it is playing a R2 dvd that i got at the same time as the dvd player.

note this one is the DVP5900/12 did not catch the v# of the load/bios/whatever on it.

now i just need a highdef tv to use the upscaling on and the HDMI output on it :P

Note i am also using a Multi system tv (NTSC and PAL) it outputed the video on the R2 disc as PAL, and the video on the R1 disk as NTSC according to the system info, but multi-system tv's are out there, and are cheap. plus i dont think divix output would mater on the PAL/NTSC issue.

great price for a great product, just over 130 euros! alot cheaper then other progressive/upscaling/HDMI dvd players.
