Question Autosetup on AVR-2105

Just got myself an AVR-2105 and am well pleased with it. I know its a 6.1 amp but I only want to run 5.1 due to room size and clutter etc (at the moment I dont even have a sub so its just 5.0) As a result I have nothing connected to the "surround L/R" connections just the "back L/R".
Today I ran the autosetup with the MIC which comes with and it got so far then at the end it failed because it didnt detect anything from the "surround" (ie: middle) speakers as there are none. Is there a way I can get the auto setup to run properly, eg: turn off the middle surround channels or something?
Cheers
K

I came across this today after trawling all the denon threads, hope it helps you. (picking up my first receiver tomorrow - avr1906)

"In a 5.1 setup the rear speakers are in fact 'Surrounds'. The 'Surround Back' channels being for the rear speakers in 6.1/7.1 setups"

AVR-1906 microphone auto-set problem?

ahh that makes sense now, so to denons thinking on 5.1 the surround L/R goes to the rear surrounds and the rear outputs from the amp are left unconnected?

I think so yes. According to the thread posted its is shown in the diagrams in the denon manual. Sorry I can't be of more help, I don't even own one yet.

When connecting for 5.1 the 'Surround Back' channel is not used. Connect your rear speakers to the 'Surround' channels. The auto-setup should work fine then. Good luck.
