I have just been watching Toy Story 2 to test out the optimizer option for the pj, and at the begining when buzz lands on the alien planet and the ground opens up the bass is very good. Also check out the begining of Die Hard 3 when the front of the shop blows off, great bass. Independance day, the openiing part where the shadow from the alien ship crosses the moon.

Movie: Surprised no one has mentioned Saving Private Ryan Yet
Music: Chemical Brothers, Under the Influence - This'll show you how deep the sub will go but be careful!

i wasnt too impressed with the bass on saving privat ryan...there are much better "bass" movies out there, Chemical Brothers are all good for bass testing...especially "under the influence" and "believe"

Organ music, some of the larger pipes will reach down to 16 Hz, which according to some 'instils religious feelings' http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/3087674.stm

Smile

i just got a sub - i've been pumping the bass out with some of these :

bittersweet life (korean film)
animatrix shorts

dj shadow 'in tune & on time' DVD
zen retrospective DVD (ninjatune records)

some reco's - > amon tobin's solid steel mix, anything from Gangstarr, Diverse, Madlib...

Once I got my sub the first thing I put on was Prefuse 73's 'one word extinguisher' = NICE

XBOX games are so crazy with a loud system and a good subbie - been playing Unreal Tournament 2 - shaking the windows

If you want to test a Sub you need to get form of "house misic" it is very bass heavy music and in the music they use a lot of low frequency tones failing that any Prodigy song the best song would be "Breath" by them.

The film I think with the bass to test any sub would the secne in Star Trek Nememsis where the two ships crash into each other. In that part of the film there is some very prolonged bass heavy moments and will test any sub.

Master and Commander has to one of the best examples of recent times. My SVS makes me think those cannons are in the room with me!
