TARGA HC5100X - multi region hack needed

Hi, can anyone help me with a hack for a TARGA HC5100X dvd player as being sold in lidl atm. ive found hacks for other targa models but not for this one. Can anyone help?

Region code hack posted by o.k., December 30 2005:
The device is a clone of LG DVR578x.
The same hack as for some LG models works fine:

1. Switch on
2. Press Setup
3. Highlight Lock item
4. Press "0" 7 times
5. A message box comes up, informing you that it's region free

Please let the forum know if it works ...or not

This is for the Targa DP 5100 not sure if its a different model .It is not a remote hack but involves making a cd which can write to the DVD players eprom and alter the firmware. I have used it ; no problems but just make sure it is the same model

PS: Just back from my local Lidl: It is a different model. The DP is a DVD player only and though they are both Targa with the 5100 prefix the innards may be different. The DP doesnt have a remote hack soo I would try the above suggetion first as it is so much easier and may be all you need

Hi guys, new here.

The hack for the Targa HC-5100x is as follows:

Power on the unit

Press the pause button

Now enter the number 314159

You'll see a region code window. Enter the new code (0 for all etc...).

Press the enter button

The current region code (second line) should now have been changed.

Press pause again and the window is closed.

Now switch the unit off and then on again.

This definately works as i have done it on my machine.
