Broken BK XLS200 ??
Hi guys
I purchased a second hand XLS200 a couple of weeks back, got it set up nicely, and have been well pleased with the results.
I started watching a film last night, Star Wars 2, and the 200 was working beautifully for the initial rumbles and explosion, but after about 5 mins I noticed there was an abscence of bass. I went to check it out, and indeed the woofer was not moving, so I looked on the panel and the red LED was not lit, even though the sub was on and connected to the mains. I swapped the lead to eliminate it as being faulty. Anyone got any ideas of what could be wrong or what I can do about it?
Cheers Guys
Matt (Worried, of Luton )

I've checked the fuse in the plug, but I don't know if I should open the unit up, warranty issues etc, and not even sure what is inside - are there fuses attached to the switch etc??

Changing the fuse won't effect the warranty, i got some spare fuses with my sub so i could fit them if i needed too.

There's a small drawer beneath the IEC receptacle - you might need a screwdriver to gently prise it out.
I can't guarantee that it's the right answer but should definitely be the next place to look after changing the IEC lead.

Didn't see that till you pointed it out so have just replaced the fuse with the spare one that was in the pull out tray as well and.............it didn't make any difference oh well. Are there any other fuses inside the cabinet that I can change?

I don't know of any more fuses but havn't taken my subs apart to that level before.
I can only suggest the obvious things from here - try it on a different plug socket with a different IEC. Otherwise you'll have to hope that one of the BK staff logs on and sees this post.

Hello again
Thanks for the advice, I've tried a different lead and socket already, and have looked on the BK website, they are away for Xmas till after the New Year, so I guess I'll just have to wait, without a properly functioning system, till then to try and resolve it Oh well.
If I don't get back on the forums for a few days, Merry Xmas all
Matt

short of changing a fuse or trying a new lead...I'd leave well alone.........
you have warranty cover so whats to worry about ?
