WMA Firmware Update for HD5/A3000 etc...

Has anyone heard any more news about the wma firmware update for the hd5/A3000 which was going to be released aroung xmas. I was reading about this back in october before the new players were on sale, can't remember where.

Don't know anything about this, don't suppose you know if they were doing it for HD1 aswell were they?

I think it was for all players. It might have been in the release notes for sonicstage 3.2

Sorry to say this firmware upgrade will only be for the A-series players. The laster versions of SonicStage can handle unprotected WMA files but will convert them to ATRAC when they are transfered to the HD5 and earlier players.

Thats a shame, wish i got my HD1 upgraded to MP3 when the option was there

In reality Still no WMA firmware upgrade has been released by Sony For A-Series..
But i think there will be a upgrade because in SonyChina is shipping New walkman(A-Series) with Wma Support
