RGB to component converters for sky+ digibox. Do they work ?

I am hoping for feedback on RGB to Component converters. I have sky + feeding my panny pv500 via scart at the moment, although the PQ is OK I would like to improve it if I can. Has anyone out there got one of these converters and if so how much improvement do they show ?. Frankly what little I have read on this forum suggests that the improvement would be minimal, hence I am reluctant to shell out 75 to 150 quid without some persuasion. Please tell me about your experiences good or bad

It wont improve anything, you have the best option for you setup as it is.
I use the js rgb-yuv converter so that i can have all my sources going to my amp then one single lead to the screen but it dont make the picture any better.

i use the QED QCV from my Sky+ Pace PVR3 box to my amp (RGB scart to component) but this is so i can switch it to the projector......only other option was using s-video and damn was it an improvement...lol......
but as for improving over RGB Scart on a direct link to a display i wouldnt like to say, the picture may look different, but as to whether it looks better or worse would probably depend on the models involved...lol......

A convertor is just that - it changes one signal type to another - it doesnt "improve" the signal at all.

However..... TVs handle different signal types differently and therefore whilst the quality of the signal is identical you may receive a different picture quality. For example my TV (see signiture) is well known for not being great at handling RGB scart and therefore does look significantly better with the same signal quality via component. Whilst I know of your model of screen I havent read anything one way or another about its ability to handle different signal types.
