Sky and AV Sender.

Bought this today to view sky upstairs.

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...%2Bsenders.htm

It works really well. The only thing is when i turn the TV off downstairs i lose signal upstairs. I think it might be some sort of deficiency with the Av splitter that i got with the kit. A really weird thing aswell is that it only works when i use the AV2 on the downstairs tely. AV1 gives a really weak and ****** signal to the upstairs. I think there's some kind of dependancy thing going on with the av splitter. Looks a bit cheap and nasty to be honest. Could always get a better one and see what happens. Would ya recommend i take it back to argos and get an AEI unit instead. However other than that its a really great unit, perfect picture quality. Any ideas guys?

I would be interested to know how you have it all connected up. I suspect but could be wrong that you feed the aerial rf cable into it at some point which I think would explain why you don't get a picture when the tv is off. With the AEI system it is linked to the scart output on the Sky box so provided Sky is on you get a picture.

I am just having a guess as to why you lose the picture if the tv is off.

I can recommend the AEI system.

I have a thomson video sender and I connect the splitter directly into the skybox scart and then have a scart lead coming from that into the telly. Try it this way and hopefully it will work.

Your a genius, i don't know why i didn't think of this. i was thinkin AV in and out and forgot AV can go any way. The instructions threw me off. It works now. Minor niggle is that now the downstairs switchs to 4:3 aspect ratio when turned on and off, its widescreen (16:9). Before it automatically switched to 16:9 but now it doesn't. Tried turning scart ctrl on and off in digibox and settings in tele but it always seems to switch back to 4:3 when turned on and off. However this is minor and a couple of flicks on the remote sorts it.

Thanks so much guys for your help. i really appreciate it.
