Help me hack an unhackable player! Toshiba SD-6200
I recently bought a Toshiba SD-6200 of ebay. This player cost $1,400 in the US last year according to a review I've seen, so thought I'd got a bargain at £10 (£25 posted! ) , but the ebay seller didn't make it very clear that it was an american player, so pretty useless to me in the UK, as it won;t play region 2 disks, or even region-free disks if they're not NTSC.
I cannot find any unlock codes anywhere for this model!
Any idea if any different model's codes could work on it? Or if anywhere can physically chip it or anything to get it working?
IJust to confuse matters even more, I don't have a remote for it! I was in the process of ordering one, but don't want to spend any more cash if I can't make it work in the UK!
Any help appreciated!

Oh Bum.
Well I emailed Toshiba, so if they come back to me saying it is possble, great, otherwise I'll get rid of it.
Annoyingly I only bought this because it has progressive scanning, and I want to get the best out of my new LCD TV. I only found out today how inexpensive progressive scan DVD players are nowadays! Like the Philips DVP3005 for £36!

Don't forget that Toshiba may only come back with a Yes or No answer as offically they can't actually tell you how to do it.

this was
on here....
DVD-player Toshiba SD-6200 ALL regions don,t have solderless upgrade
(Example: PDA, DESKTOP, IRC, CD-R and etc....) in variant MULTIREGION,
and NTSC and PAL-enable, and Macrovision OFF.
The modification of this player is done only through special
Toshiba-Data-service-cable and special firm software through plugs On main-board (plug CN-601).
hope it helps.

To be fair, the seller didn`t really do anything wrong! He advertised a NTSC Region 1 model and was located in the USA, and you even read a review showing it was a USA model as it had a price in USD! Its really something you should have checked yourself before buying, not the seller!
Because this is a USA region 1 110v model, its NTSC tv format. Even if you made this model multiregion, it would not solve your problem, as it is a single format NTSC only model - inserting a PAL disc would result in a "this type of disc cannot be played" error, not a region code error, but the unit telling you it cannot read a non-NTSC disc.
Usually only dual PAL/NTSC tv format machines (i.e those sold in Europe/UK) are capable of playing both PAL and NTSC models, as region 2 has to cover both Japan (NTSC) and Europe/UK (Pal).

An SD9500 is a UK/Europe spec (PAL&NTSC) model, the SD6200 is a NTSC only (USA) specific model never released in the UK/Europe, so is not PAL compatible regardless if its modded or not - the above won`t help...
