Maplin do one at £49.99 and I don't think it's just a special offer. Selling my car minus stereo so got one for the new owner, now USB or SD card slot but works fine.

any thoughts on the possibility of plugging a phone into the uSB slot and then using the stereo as a hands free kit?

I got one of these.

Just what I was waiting for - no more cd burning!

It's a bit flimsy but seems quite well specced - went into my octavia as a more or less straight swap, no wires to chop though the antenna connection needs a deep pronged male connector, so I need an adapter to change over from my old grundig one.

Sound quality is pretty good, and the control system is great -though the display is a bit cheap.

You can't really go wrong for 50 quid.

I even didn't manage to get one

I'm now looking for a similar alternative

Suggestions on cheapy CD/MP3 unit with card slot

As for your problem. You got the ISO wires the correct way round? In some cases they can cause the system to reset after the power is off.
But since I don't know much about car stereos I couldn't tell you much more.

I have one of these sets & am very unhappy with it. Once you start to move the car the sound 'pulses' on the Radio. I know my ariel is not perfect but both the MiniDisc/Radio & The original Cassette radio work Ok with the ariel. The stations have vanished at least two times & I've had to load them in again (this is not to do with the ignition on/off). When still the sound on the radio is good, but the sound on MP3s is very poor, lack of frequency both top & bottom missing. I know the MP3s on the disc are excellent, it's a disc I've used a lot before. Is this set a load of rubbish or have I just got a bad one.
