Not really.
DVD-I simply combines an analog video feed and a digital one. On graphics cards it's done for end-user flexibility in that it allows someone with only analog displays to use 2 at once, they do this to save space otherwise they'd need 2 VGA and 2 DVI-D connectors on the backplate, which would be more expensive even if there was roon (which there isn't).
So it's a convenience, there is no qualitative difference. It's 'better' if you like as it gives more options I guess.
