Fanless graphics card - recommendation sought

Hi - would some kind soul recommend a decent & quiet graphics card?

My main priority is output of high definition via DVi, and not gaming. Another live video output (component ideally, vga if not) would be useful.

I want something reasonably priced ie <£70 if possible, in a pci fitting.

Thanks in advance.

Paul

PCI rather than AGP or PCI-Express?

I'd be interested in this too - but AGP.

I use an ATI radeon 9200. Its fanless and cheap.
Probably sh*t for gaming but is fine for SD TV and video. It also seems to cope fine with some HD xvids (not full 720p but quite close) I have downloaded.
I am running from Linux HTPC direct to Samsung LCD TV vga port.
Lovely

Have a look at the Gigabyte ones. I have the x800 but if you don't need it for games then there are cheaper ones. It is quiet :-) but generates a lot of heat so you will probably need some additional exhaust fans for the case.

Gigabyte do a few, depending on what you want you can get a nVidia GeForce 6200 for around £45. AGP tends to be slightly more.

QuietPC.com have a 6600GT for £128, this has all the nVidia Pure video features if you are interested. Not seen Pure video in action, so can't comment on the quality.
I think that if you want to do HiDef with Pure Video you need a 6600GT, a 6600 will do most of the Purevideo stuff (a couple of HiDef things missing) and a 6200 is limited.

If you have no interest in pure video then a 6200 would be sufficient I would say.

ATI have release the x1300 card, which is passive and about £80.

I would think the slower the card, the lower the temperature, but I have no evidence to back this up.

Thanks very much for the comments. It's an AGP 8x slot. Is a 6600GT the best recommendation for this?

Regards

Paul

I have the heatpipe 6600GT and can say that it is good. But, do not underestimate how hot these things get. I had mine in a mini PC case and the card overheated after 5 mins of anything that pushed the graphics card.

I think that Asus also do a heatpipe line, but I can't find anything on the net at the moment.

I have a radeon 9600 sapphire atlantis 256mb which runs HD material fine and is in a small mini cube case - no problems.
