Component Output?

Hey all,

The graphics card on my new Dell has component outputs. My friend explained to me that there's not much difference between RGB Scart and Component (of which my TV has the former), and that I could buy a simple Component-to-RGB Scart cable and enjoy higher quality TV Output from my graphics card by switching it to component output and feeding it to the TV via the RGB-Scart input.

Is this viable, and would it offer a considerable improvement? Switching between Composite and RGB on the Sky box offers a visible improvement, but I still have my reservations about the difference between component and RGB scart.

Component and RGB are different signal...If you want to use the Component output into an RGB scart you will need a transcoder inbetween...Unless you can output RGB with sync on green on your component outputs and your TV can accept that...
